Kindergarten thru 2nd Grade
Cheerleading for Kindergarten thru 2nd Grade begins in late December or early January. Practices will be held once or twice a week. The K thru 2nd Grade squad(s) will cheer for the micro-mini basketball games that are held on Saturday mornings in the HOPE School gym (Fieldhouse).
Cheerleading squads may be split depending on the amount of sign-ups.
Cheerleaders do standard sideline cheers, a dance at halftime and cheers between the quarters. They learn a little bit about basketball too!
There is no tumbling or pyramids. There are no try-outs so all are welcome & encouraged to join!
Cheerleading Grades 3 thru 8
The Cheerleading season for grades 3 thru 8 will run from the last week of November through the end of March. Cheerleaders will cheer at home basketball games as well as compete in 3-4 Cheer Competitions. (Schedule to be determined). Practices will be 2-3 nights per week; 2 nights in the beginning and moving to 3 as the competitions get closer.
Some tumbling, stunts and pyramids will be incorporated into the routine. The number of cheerleading squads and the placement on those squads will be based upon sign-ups, experience, and evaluation results performed by a neutral party. There are no tryouts and no experience is required so all are welcome & encouraged to join! We have some big plans for the program this year and would love for your child to be a part of it!
